Tanzania Impact for Health

Tanzania Impact for Health

Our History

Tanzania is among the many countries significantly burdened by the rising trends of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), compounded by a clear research and data gap. Many risk factors for NCDs are closely linked to environmental and climate changes, yet global interventions and policies often overlook the critical role of youth in addressing these challenges.

Our Story

The story of Tanzania Impact for Health (TiH) began with a group of passionate young individuals—each working independently in different areas of public health, environmental advocacy, climate change activism, and community engagement. Though our efforts were scattered across separate paths, a common realization began to unite us: that NCDs and environmental health are deeply interconnected, and that young people must take a central role in shaping solutions.

Fuelled by this shared purpose, we decided to bring our energies together. What began as informal collaboration quickly evolved into a collective vision. In 2023, we officially founded Tanzania Impact for Health (TiH)—a youth-led and youth-driven organization committed to bridging the research and data gap in NCDs, with a strong focus on their intersection with climate change and environmental risks.

TiH stands as a testament to the power of young minds coming together around a common cause. Through inclusive, research-based, and community-anchored initiatives, we aim to drive systemic change. Our work prioritizes youth empowerment, gender equality, and innovation as we tackle the complex and evolving landscape of health and environmental sustainability.

We believe that by placing youth at the center of NCD and climate action, we can spark transformative change and build a healthier, more resilient future for all.
